THE STORY OF CAFÉ COLADA
In Cuba, a colada is made to be shared. That simple ritual is at the heart of Café Colada: a warm welcome, familiar flavors and a moment to connect. We’re bringing that spirit to Milwaukee, with Cuban coffee, comforting food and a relaxed tropical atmosphere.
A little piece of Cuba, meant to be shared.
OUR VISION
Café Colada is a place where every guest feels like a regular. We believe in the power of conversation over a good cup of coffee. Our vision is to create a vibrant local hub that honors Cuban heritage while embracing the community of Milwaukee. We strive for excellence in every sandwich pressed and every cortado poured, ensuring that every visit feels like a brief escape to the islands.
You matter here.
OUR STORY
A little piece of Cuba. A place to belong in Milwaukee.
Every neighborhood deserves a place where walking through the door feels a little like coming home.
That is the feeling we dream of creating at Café Colada.
Our story began when two worlds came together: a love for Cuban culture and years of experience in American restaurants and hospitality. One brought the traditions of sharing coffee, food and conversation. The other brought a deep appreciation for the small, thoughtful details that make a guest feel cared for. Together, they inspired a simple idea: to bring the warmth of Cuba to a table in Milwaukee.
"A little piece of Cuba, meant to be shared."
IT STARTS WITH A COLADA
In Cuba, coffee is an invitation. A reason to pull up a chair. To ask how someone is doing—and stay long enough to hear the answer.
A colada is made to be shared, poured into small cups and passed around. That little ritual holds everything we hope Café Colada will become: a place where there is room for one more, where strangers can become familiar faces and where an ordinary day can hold a moment of connection.
A TABLE FOR MILWAUKEE
We imagine the morning you stop in for a cafecito and someone remembers your name. The friend you finally find time to catch up with. The song that brings back a memory. The conversation you are in no hurry to end.
If Cuba is part of your story, we hope you find something here that feels like home. If it is new to you, we look forward to sharing the flavors, music and traditions that mean so much to us.
Milwaukee is where we hope these moments become part of everyday life. Where our story meets yours.
We are creating Café Colada with that hope: that you come for a coffee, a meal or a cocktail—and leave feeling that you have a place at our table.
Born from Cuba. Shaped by hospitality. Made to be shared with Milwaukee.
OUR VISION
Our vision is for every guest who walks through the doors of Café Colada to feel that they are not simply entering a café—they are being welcomed into our home.
From the moment they arrive, we want them to feel seen, welcomed, and genuinely cared for. Whether it is remembering their favorite coffee, greeting them by name, sharing a recommendation, or simply taking the time to make their visit feel personal, the smallest details should communicate one thing:
"You matter here."
We want every guest to experience the warmth that is so deeply rooted in Cuban culture—the kind of hospitality where there is always room for one more person at the table, coffee is meant to be shared, conversations are never rushed, and people are treated like family.
For one guest, Café Colada may be the place where they begin their morning with their favorite cafecito. For another, it may become the table where they meet a friend every week, celebrate something important, enjoy a quiet afternoon, or simply come because they know they will be welcomed with warmth.
No two guests are the same, and we want every experience to feel personal.
For those who grew up with Cuban culture, we hope a familiar flavor, song, aroma, or moment brings back a beautiful memory of home.
For those experiencing Cuba for the first time, we want to welcome them into our culture and allow them to discover its warmth, flavors, traditions, and joy in a way that feels genuine and unforgettable.
Above all, we want our guests to leave with more than what they ordered.
We want them to leave with a feeling.
A feeling of belonging.
A feeling of warmth.
A feeling that someone was genuinely happy they came.
Because at Café Colada, hospitality is not simply about serving someone.
It is about making every guest feel like they have a place at our table.
